A dreamy escape
10.0Beautiful relaxing place with every need taken care of. Expensive but good value for that price. The Balinese breakfast is incredible. The staff are so kind and helpful and the resort itself is stunning. Invisible angels run around making sure everything is perfect. The location is slightly outside of Ubud but the complementary shuttle is very helpful.

10.0Lovely staff and a very relaxing environment
Great Hotel with superb value
10.02 nights - Very much impressed by their top notch of hospitality. From the staffs, rooms, restaurant and facilities are all perfect and beyond my expectation. Staffs are all courteous, friendly and perfectly trained. Sang Ade and Novi are two of them. The rest are all equally good. Rooms - super clean, spacious and feel very luxurious. From the linen to the towel, to the amenities are all prepared to perfection. Restaurant - all food are delicious and nicely prepared and we did not have Bali belly throughout the stay! Firedance during dinner is a bonus!!! Facilities - are all in good condition - free yoga class, free morning walk and shuttle to ubud is a breeze and truly value for your money. I would definitely coming here again and recommend Kayon resort to all who plan to visit Ubud!
Third visit but a mixed experience
8.0This was my 3rd visit to The Kayon Resort. Unfortunately it started really badly. I had booked a transfer from the airport to the hotel with them but they go the time wrong (a typo) and when I arrived at Denpasar there was no car for me. I went 3 times up and down the huge number of drivers with name boards but then called the Resort and had to wait for them to investigate and call me back. Eventually they found a taxi driver with a very uncomfortable car who did not speak English to pick me up and drive me to Ubud. It was a terrible journey, involving being taken to the wrong hotel to begin with. I finally arrived 5.5 hours after my plane landed, very cross. The duty manager was clever enough to get a lady in from the local village to give me a free massage to calm me down before dinner! My river canyon room was very nice - same that I'd had before. I enjoyed 3 spa treatments in 3 days. The restaurant staff were very friendly and enjoyed the morning walk on 2 days. I had planned to stay in the hotel rather than venture out into the chaos of central Ubud. The pool area is very small - especially when there is building work going on to expand the resort - but not so many people used it. On 2 of 3 evenings there was a special meal for dinner which I couldn't really enjoy because of dietary allergies but on the 3rd night they prepared some delicious chicken skewers specially for me because I'd enjoyed them the night before (and sent me the recipe on my return home). Overall I'm nostalgic about the traditional, small Kayon Resort with it's Balinese flavour and friendly staff but it wasn't perfect on this occasion and I don't think expanding it is a good idea.
